Genesis (2014)
For Organ and Narrator
Commissioned by Jamie Koffler
The Narrator reads the text of the Book of Genesis one day at a time and the Organ responds. This work is meant to be performed in a church, possibly for a church service. The theme of creation is heavily explored in this work. Rather than focusing on the religious implications of the Book of Genesis, I chose instead to treat it as a philosophical text about the meaning of life, and as a way to find the intention behind our creation.
